Prompts are submitted through a google form; you’ll find the link in the #draco-ginny-fic-fest channel in the Exchanges category (link below), which will serve as the hub for fest rules and announcements. Stories will be posted on AO3.
Prompts can be as short as a few words or as long as a paragraph. You can submit as many prompts as you’d like during the prompting period as long as they are submitted one at a time. Submitting a prompt does NOT obligate you to write a story. Anyone can submit prompts whether they plan to participate as a writer or not! Prompts can be submitted using your name, username, or anonymously. If you need ideas or resources, you’ll find plenty in the server different channels!

**WHAT:** The Draco/Ginny Fic Fest 3.0 is the Nth annual writing fest devoted solely to the romantic pairing of Draco Malfoy and Ginny Weasley! Look, TBH, I don’t even know how many there have been. But it’s a big number. And I really want to keep this exchange alive. Our fandom ship has been sailing for a long time, and I want us to keep it afloat!
**WHO:** Anyone can join! Current, former, or even brand new writers are welcome as long as you have an AO3 account! Don’t have an AO3 account? Contact mod Anise to receive an invitation to join. Don’t want to write but still want to participate? We seriously need prompters and readers/reviewers too!

Right now it’s a victim of DNS (Domain Name Service) spoofing. This means that a malicious party is trying to steal traffic from FFn by purchasing a very similar domain.
So if you want to read fanfiction and not see leaves, you have have to type out “www.fanfiction.net”.
not reading wips feels anti-fanfiction to me. and i don’t mean that in a “so you’re a bad person if you don’t read them” kinda way. do what you want. but i also feel, that you are completely missing the point. with fanfiction you’re supposed to come along for the ride. the epic highs and lows of highschool football. the comment sections. the conversations. the theories. the “sorry i didn’t update last week i was abducted by aliens and then my cat got stuck in a tree.” LIKE. if you just want a story that’s fully finished and polished go to a bookstore. fanfic is an EXPERIENCE. and ALSO. participating in the process is part of the way you make fanfic writing worth while. it’s part of how you thank authors. like why would anyone write fanfiction if no one was going to interact with them until it was done? it again feels like a way that fanfiction is being eaten by consumer culture. you’re waiting for your product. but this is supposed to be a club. you don’t turn up to drama club like “where’s my play bitch?” NO ma'am. we’re supposed to paint these cardboard trees together. ok. i may have lost control of this metaphor. BUT YOU GET IT.
A little reco for DG fans who also read romcoms: The Last Word by Katy Birchall. The characters are so similar to Draco and Ginny, it’s almost like a muggle au imo

you might have seen people talking about sudowrite and/or their tool storyengine recently
and just like… don’t. don’t do it. don’t try it out just to see what it’s about.
for two main reasons:
1) never feed anything proprietary into a large language model (LLM, eg ChatGPT, google bard, etc.).
this means don’t give it private company information when you’re at work, but also don’t give it your original writing. that’s your work.
because of the way these language models work, anything you feed into it is part of it now. and yeah, the FAQ says they “don’t claim ownership” over anything and yeah, they give you that reassuring bullshit about how unlikely it is that the exact same sentence will be reconstructed—
but that’s not the point.
do you have an unusual way of constructing sentences? a metaphor you like to use? a writing tic that sets you apart from the rest? anything that gives you a unique writing voice?
feed your writing into an LLM, and the model has your voice now. the model can generate text that sounds like it was written by you and someone else can claim it’s theirs because they gave the model a prompt.
don’t feed the model.
2) the other reason is that sudowrite scraped a bunch of omegaverse fic without consent to build their model and that’s a really shitty thing to do, because it means people weren’t given the chance to choose whether or not to feed the model.
